Scarlett Ring and Ella Boissoneault scored first-half goals and fifth-seeded Wilcats York beat No. 4 Greely 2-1 Tuesday in a Class B South girls’ soccer quarterfinal at Cumberland.
The Wildcats (7-5-4) next travel to top-ranked Cape Elizabeth for the semifinals Saturday.
Ring’s goal was set up by Ava Fontaine. Boissoneault’s goal was unassisted.
The Rangers (8-5-2) got a second-half goal from Molly Partridge and two saves from Charlotte Libby.
Ella Hickey made six saves for York.
CAPE ELIZABETH 5, WELLS 0: Noelle Mallory and Evelyn Agrodnia each had a goal and assist in the first half, and Caroline Concannon scored twice in the second half as the top-seeded Capers (15-0) eliminated the No. 9 Warriors (8-8) in a Class B South quarterfinal in Cape Elizabeth.
Juliet Moore opened the scoring for Cape Elizabeth, which will host fifth-seeded York in the semifinals.
YARMOUTH 2, FREEPORT 0: Ava Feeley scored a pair of goals in the first half, leading the second-seeded Clippers (12-3) past the 10th-seeded Falcons (7-8-1) in a Class B South quarterfinal in Yarmouth.
Feeley converted a pass from Macy Gilroy four minutes into the game, then made it 2-0 with an assist from Kate Sahagian after 15 minutes.
Regan Sullivan capped her shutout by stopping a penalty kick with 17 seconds remaining. She finished with four saves. Freeport’s Lauren Roussel stopped five shots.
GORHAM 2, FALMOUTH 0: Piper Forgues scored in the 7th minute as she finished off a pass from Ashley Connolly to give the second-seeded Rams (15-0) the early advantage as they shut out the No. 7 Navigators (9-7) in a Class A South quarterfinal at Gorham.
Connolly added a second-half goal for Gorham on a feed from Julia Reed.
Abigail Pausman made 12 saves for Falmouth, and Kate Martin had six saves for the Rams, who will host third-seeded Windham in a Class A South semi on Friday.
WAYNFLETE 6, MONMOUTH ACADEMY/WINTHROP 0: Lucy Hart scored three goals as the fifth-ranked Flyers (11-4) topped the fourth-seeded Mustangs (11-4) in a Class C South quarterfinal at Monmouth.
Lucy Sarno, Grace Alexander and Yen Wilson scored for Waynflete, and Morgan Earls added a pair of assists.
June Foyt stopped eight shots for Monmouth/Winthrop, and Ayla Stutzman made six saves for the Flyers.
Waynflete will host eighth-seeded Traip Academy in a Class C South semi on Saturday.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2, MT. ABRAM 1: Elise MacNair hooked up with Tessa Ferguson for the second time to break a 1-1 tie in the second half as the sixth-seeded Seagulls (10-5) knocked off the third-seeded Roadrunners (10-4-1) in a Class C South quarterfinal at Strong.
MacNair opened the scoring on Ferguson’s pass in the 20th minute for Old Orchard Beach and Charlotte Mitchell pulled Mt. Abram even on a misplayed ball.
Ruthie Gusler made 10 saves for the Road Runners.
TRAIP 1, HALL-DALE 0: Keira Alessi’s goal with 3:25 left lifted the eighth-seeded Rangers (8-8) to a stunning upset of top-ranked and previously unbeaten Hall-Dale in a Class C south quarterfinal in Farmingdale.
The Rangers (8-8) will visit No. 5 Waynflete in a regional semifinal game Saturday. Hall-Dale, which outscored its opponents 103-2 this season, finished 14-1.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 8, ST. DOMINIC 1: Angel Huntsman scored four goals, two in each half, as the top-seeded Panthers (15-0) defeated the eighth-seeded Saints (2-11-2) in a Class D South quarterfinal at Yarmouth.
Hayden Wiendkowski had a goal and a pair of assists for NYA, and Lea Dube, Ella Giguere and Emily Robbins added goals.
Natalie Brocke scored for St. Dominic.
Anna Therriault made eight saves for the Saints and Sarah Moore and Charlotte Harper-Cunningham combined to make six saves for the Panthers, who host #5 Temple Academy in a Class D South semi on Friday.
BUCKFIELD 3, PINE TREE ACADEMY 0: Mya Austin had a goal and an assist as the No. 3 Bucks’ (8-5-2) beat the Breakers (3-4-3) in a Class D South quarterfinal in Buckfield.
Austin first fed Kai Trenoweth for the opening goal, then scored a goal off an assist from Madison Turcotte. Cora Brewster made it 3-0 for Buckfield by converting a penalty kick.
Kianna Finnegan made one save for the shutout, and Paige Tryson stopped 17 shots for Pine Tree Academy.
FIELD HOCKEY
CAPE ELIZABETH 6, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Kait McIntyre scored four goals as the second-seeded Capers (13-2) cruised past the No. 7 Raiders (5-10) in a Class B South quarterfinal in Cape Elizabeth.
McIntyre struck twice in the first quarter, then made it 3-0 in the third.
Grace Gray and Sophia Chung also scored.
LEAVITT 1, YARMOUTH 0: The fourth-seeded Hornets (12-3) finally broke through in the fourth quarter and edged the No. 5 Clippers (8-7) in Turner to earn a spot in the Class B South semifinals.
Leavitt dominated play from midway through the first period. The Hornets outshot Yarmouth 17-2 and had 17 penalty corners to Yarmouth’s one, but they struggled to finish their scoring opportunities.
The Hornets capitalized in the fourth when Jazzlynn Clark took a cross from Cierra Barker and fired the ball into the cage for the only goal of the game.
Yarmouth goalie Quincy Schnee finished with 16 saves. Leavitt’s Lily Chabot turned away two shots.
FREEPORT 3, LAKE REGION 0: Chloe White broke a scoreless deadlock early in the second half and Emily Groves added a pair of goals as the third-seeded Falcons (11-3-1) beat the No. 6 Lakers (5-9-1) in a Class B South quarterfinal in Freeport.
White scored off a penalty corner, and Groves made it 2-0 later in the third quarter off another penalty corner, with an assist from Lizalyn Boudreau.
Liv Christensen set up the final goal in the fourth.
Freeport next faces second-seeded Cape Elizabeth.

WINSLOW 3, OCEANSIDE 0: Andrew Poulin scored two goals and Joey Richards added a goal to lead the No. 2 Black Raiders (14-0-1) to a Class B North quarterfinal game victory.
