I support Anne Gass for House District 104, New Gloucester and part of Gray. Others have shared her vast experience, which is available on her website, but I want to focus on her fiscal responsibility. Over the three years as a Gray town councilor, Anne worked as part of a politically diverse team, reviewing in detail every line of the budget, identifying other revenue sources (ask her about the Long Hill ATV grant), focusing on short- and long-term planning. She managed to create budgets that were mil-rate neutral, while building up the capital improvement projects fund and moving several high-priority goals and projects forward.
She has strong values, will listen to anyone’s ideas, is a team player, has an intricate knowledge of how government works, and is fiscally responsible. She is ready to continue her long history of serving her community.
Vote for Anne.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
