SOUTH PORTLAND – Mervin C. Weimer, 83, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at Gosnell House in Scarborough.
Mervin was born on Aug. 26, 1939, in North New Portland. He was born the fourth of five boys to Mervin G. Weimer and Lucille (Luce) Weimer. Due to his mother’s illness of TB, Mervin and his younger brother, Bob (Robert) were raised in foster care and attended Portland schools.
Mervin worked for 35 years at Mercy Hospital in Environmental Services. He had a passion for fire trucks, his car and his home. All of which brought him great joy.
Mervin was predeceased by his parents; and brothers William “Fred”, George and Robert.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Barbara (Cole) Weimer of South Portland; brother Thelman and his wife, Marguerite of Connecticut, sisters-in-law Carol and Martha; and several nieces, nephews; and cousins.
Visiting hours will be at Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland, Friday, Oct. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m.
A graveside service will be Saturday, Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. at Brooklawn Memorial Cemetery, Portland.
A funeral service will be held at Mountainside Community Church in Falmouth on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon.
