Donna Mae McIntyre

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. – Donna Mae McIntyre of Cranberry Twp., Pa., passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at 78 years old.

Donna was born Jan. 9, 1944. Donna graduated from Adrian College in Michigan where she was President of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and later was treasurer of the Pittsburgh sorority Alumnae Charter.

Her career included time as the executive secretary for Schneider Sheet Metal and James E. Roth Sheet Metal, Mars, Pa., and worked for Pennsylvania State Representative James Byrd. She also was a successful realtor for the Murray Agency, later Berkshire Hathaway in Cranberry Township, Pa.

She was an avid reader, a talented artist painting primarily in watercolors and pastels, and played the chord organ that she grew up listening to her Dad play.

She most loved being with and traveling with her family and friends. She loved vacationing on Sanibel Island for 49 years and visiting her sister in Maine each summer. Other memorable trips included the African Safari in the Tanzanian Ngorongoro Conservation Area, trips to Kiawah Island, the golf trip to Pebble Beach, Calif., and going to the Masters Tournament in Atlanta, Ga. Locally, she loved to host gatherings at the family backyard pool and continued the family tradition of taking rides through North Park to count the deer.

She was proud of her family’s accomplishments: her brother and nephew who were Eagle Boy Scouts; the grand-nephew’s and niece’s athletic achievements; and the newest family member who is a star at day care, just to name a few.

She is already missed terribly and will be forever loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by Andrew P. McIntyre, her loving husband of 46 years; and her loving Tibetan dog, Macy; brother, Brian and his wife, Ruth, of Fort Mills, S.C., sister, Lynne Gaudette of Biddeford; nephew, Heath Pontius, his wife, Amy, and children, Carter and Olivia of Cranberry Township, Pa.; and niece, Heather Orsulic, her husband, Boris, and son, Oliver of Franklin, Tenn.

She was predeceased by her parents Ross and Doris (Snell) Pontius.

There will be a memorial gathering from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24 at the Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, following the gathering, at the funeral home.
