Charlie McKee passed for three touchdowns, including a go-ahead 7-yard pass to Khalil Newton with 5:48 remaining, and Stony Brook rallied Saturday for a 28-27 win over Maine in a Colonial Athletic Association football game in Stony Brook, New York.

Maine (2-5, 2-2 CAA), which led 20-7 at halftime, had a chance to win it in the final minute, but Cole Baker’s 46-yard field goal attempt was wide left.

Baker earlier was good from 45 and 33 yards, and Joe Fagnano threw touchdown passes of 13 yards to Kobay White and 42 yards to Shane Bowman in the first half.

Elijah Barnwell’s 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave Maine a 27-14 lead. McKee answered with a 1-yard pass to Tyler Devera as Stony Brook (1-6, 1-4) cut the deficit to 27-21 late in the third.

McKee was 18 of 21 for 249 yards. Fagnano completed 28 of 45 passes for 314 yards, and also rushed for 65 yards on 10 carries. Bowman had six catches for 130 yards.

BOWDOIN 28, WESLEYAN 26: Andre Eden had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs in the first half, and Max Jacobs returned an interception 10 yards for a score as the Polar Bears (2-4) upset the Cardinals (4-2) in Brunswick.

Bowdoin also got a 4-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Boel to Colton Fahey as it built a 21-7 lead. Jacobs’ defensive TD made it 28-14 in the third quarter, and the Polar Bears held on by stopping a 2-point conversion attempt after a Wesleyan touchdown with 1:34 remaining.

Boel finished 22 of 31 for 207 yards, with one interception.

COLBY 18, HAMILTON 12: Keon Smart’s 1-yard run with 13 minutes remaining capped the Mules’ comeback from a 12-0 deficit against the Continentals (2-4) in Clinton, New York.

Lowell Carr kicked a 32-yard field goal just before halftime, and Matt Hersch threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Jack Sawyer in the third quarter as Colby improved to 4-2.

Hersch was 19 of 30 for 218 yards, with one interception. Sawyer caught eight passes for 117 yards.

MIDDLEBURY 40, BATES 28: Cole Kennon threw five touchdown passes to lead the Panthers (5-1) past the Bobcats (2-4) in Lewiston.

Bates quarterback Colton Bosselait completed 31 of 47 passes for 360 yards and four touchdowns – two to Mohamed Diawara and one each to Christian Olivieri and Jackson Hayes. Olivieri caught 17 passes for 177 yards.

ENDICOTT 43, UNE 0: Clayton Marengi threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Jonas Wiechmann in the first quarter, then raced 67 yards for a second-quarter TD as the Gulls (7-0, 3-0 Commonwealth Coast) beat the Nor’easters (4-3, 2-2) in Biddeford.

Former Thornton Academy star Anthony Bracamonte caught seven passes for 77 yards for Endicott.

UNE quarterback Jarrett Henault was 11 of 20 for 79 yards and was sacked nine times, including a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

MEN’S HOCKEY

MAINE 4, QUINNIPIAC 0: The Black Bears (2-2) got third-period goals from Cole Hanson, Ben Poisson, Matthew Fawcett and Nolan Renwick to upset the third-ranked Bobcats (2-1) in Orono.

Maine broke the game open with three goals in the final eight minutes. Victor Ostman earned the shutout, stopping 33 shots.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

MAINE 1, NORTHEASTERN 0: Grace Heiting’s goal midway through the first period held up as the Black Bears (5-4, 3-1 Hockey East) upset the Huskies (7-1, 5-1) in Orono.

Jorden Mattison earned the shutout with 33 saves.

SOUTHERN MAINE 6, KEENE STATE 2: Ciera Berthiaume scored two goals and set up another, and the Huskies (15-1, 7-0 Little East) extended their winning streak to 12 with a victory over the Owls (9-8-2, 2-5) in Gorham.

Berthiaume broke a 2-2 tie with her second goal, just seven seconds after Keene State drew even early in the second half.

Catriona Gould, Julia McKenna, Riley Reitchel and Katie Lynch also scored for USM.

UNE 3, NICHOLS 1: Lizzie Frattaroli scored twice after setting up a goal Tori Keyes, leading the Nor’easters (9-4-3, 4-1-3 Commonwealth Coast) past the Bison (7-8-2, 2-6) in Dudley, Massachusetts.

ST. JOSEPH’S 2, REGIS 1: Madison Michaud scored the eventual winning goal midway through the second half after setting up a first-half goal by Aaliyah Wilson-Falcone, and the Monks (7-8-1, 7-3-1 GNAC) edged the Lions (9-5-2, 8-3-1) in Standish.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 2, CENTRAL MAINE CC 1: Paige St. Pierre and Desiree Veilleux each tallied a goal as the SeaWolves beat the Mustangs to advance to the Yankee Small College Conference semifinals.

Padilla’s goal came less than four minutes after UNE’s Sam Higgins tied the game.
