Jan C. Nowe

YARMOUTH – Jan C. Nowe, 70, of South Portland passed away, after a long illness, on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022.

Jan was born on June 24, 1952 in Haverhill, Mass. to Reverend Glenwood and Clarissa Jorden. She graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington Mass.

She spent summers in Alton Bay, N.H. where she met and married her husband on Oct. 21, 1972, moving to Portland. She worked at Portland Savings Bank until our son was born in 1978. She spent several years homeschooling him until he entered high school.

She loved the many cruises and vacations we took to the Caribbean.

She worked for Imany for several years and later for IDEXX where she worked in their human relations department where she retired for medical reasons.

She was predeceased by her father, Glenwood, mother, Clarissa; and older sister, Debra Kadey.

She is survived by her husband, Edward; son, Glen; and younger sister, Andi Burks of Vernon, Vt.

A graveside service, officiated by her brother-in-law, Bruce Burks, will be held at a later date at the Goodwin’s Mills Cemetery in Lyman.
