Caden True broke a scoreless tie by returning the second-half kickoff for a touchdown, and Hayden Whitney rushed for three touchdowns as Thornton Academy pulled away for a 27-6 win over Bonny Eagle in a Class A football game Friday night in Standish.
Whitney scored from 13, 21 and 62 yards, helping the Golden Trojans improve to 6-2.
Trevor Perkins had a 1-yard touchdown run for Bonny Eagle (4-4).
WELLS 42, YORK 6: Dyllan Davis ran 90 yards for a touchdown on the opening kickoff, Eli Potter added a 27-yard interception return for a score later in the first quarter, and the Warriors (6-2) went on to defeat the Wildcats (5-3) in a Class C regular-season finale at York.
Michael Lewinsky scored twice, from 1 and 2 yards, Potter had a 4-yard TD run and Dennis Buxton ran in from 5 yards.
San Fogg scored for York on an 8-yard run in the second quarter. Wells led 27-6 at halftime.
SANFORD 36, BANGOR 18: Jordan Bissonnette ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as the Spartans (5-3) handled the Rams (1-7) in a Class A matchup in Sanford.
Bissonnette scored on a 53-yard run in the first quarter and threw a 17-yard TD pass to Makai Bougie, who made a leaping catch in the right front corner of the end zone with 1:34 left in the first half to put Sanford ahead 20-12. Alex Sevigny followed with his third extra point kick.
Bissonnette also had a 4-yard run in the third quarter, which was followed by a 2-point conversion rush by LJ McFarland, who had a 4-yard scoring run of his own in the second quarter.
Cam Suhy added a 10-yard TD run in the fourth and Adrian Zea kicked the final extra point.
Teddy Stevenson threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Johnson and had a 1-yard rushing touchdown for Bangor.
SCARBOROUGH 56, EDWARD LITTLE 30: D’Angelo Alston passed for three touchdowns in the first half, including a 59 yarder to Charlie Murray that opened the scoring for the Red Storm (5-3) in a Class A win over the Red Eddies (2-6) at Scarborough.
Tyler Crockett added four TD runs.
Bennett Dubois caught two touchdown passes for Edward Little, one from Gavin Therriault and and one from Gavin Morris. Morris also scored on an 18-yard run.
GORHAM 35, DEERING 0: Izak Young passed for three touchdowns and ran for another, and Gorham (2-6) shut out Deering (1-7) at Portland.
Young had scoring passes of 8 and 10 yards to Aidan Lee as Gorham opened a 13-0 lead in the first quarter.
Young also passed 15 yards to Gabe Michaud and ran in from 5 yards in the third. Cody Sellick scored Gorham’s other touchdown, a 5-yard run in the second quarter.
Jack Caron was a two-way standout for Deering.
BIDDEFORD 63, WESTBROOK 22: The Tigers (4-4) opened a 21-0 lead in the first six minutes and went on to defeat the Blue Blazes (2-6) in Biddeford.
Biddeford led 56-6 at halftime.
MT. ARARAT/HYDE 38, YARMOUTH 14: Shea Farrell scored four touchdowns to propel the Eagles (7-1) past the Clippers (7-1) in an eight-man Large School South showdown at Topsham.
Farrell scored on a 37-yard run in the first quarter, then added a 7-yard touchdown run in the second. He capped his night with fourth-quarter scores of 5 and 80 yards.
Dash Farrell also scored for the Eagles on a 50-yard pass from Mack Wilkins in the second quarter as Mt. Ararat built a 22-6 halftime lead.
LISBON/ST. DOMINIC 24, POLAND 7: Colby Levasseur scored two touchdowns as the Greyhounds (4-3) ran away from the Knights (3-4) in Lisbon.
Quarterback Jimmy Fitzsimmons scored the other Lisbon touchdown on a long run.
Brady Martin opened the scoring with a short touchdown run for Poland.
LEAVITT 44, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6: Noah Carpenter threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more to lead the Hornets (8-0) past the Raiders (4-4) in Fryeburg.
Carpenter opened the scoring with a 30-yard TD pass to Dayton Calder, then ran in from 1 and 40 yards to give Leavitt a 23-0 lead after one quarter. Carpenter kicked an extra point, ran for a 2-point conversion and threw a conversion pass to Brett Coburn in the first 12 minutes.
Sawyer Hathaway caught a 6-yard TD pass from Carpenter in the second quarter, with Carpenter adding the extra point to make it 30-0 at halftime.
Calder added a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Carpenter connected with Nick Morin for the 2-point conversion. Keegan Reny rounded out the Hornets’ scoring with a 40-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Carpenter passed for 122 yards and rushed for 103.

WINDHAM 2, THORNTON ACADEMY 1: Tyler Johnsen scored off a rebound with 53 seconds left in the second overtime as the sixth-seeded Eagles (11-4) withstood a challenge from the 11th-seeded Trojans (6-8-1) in a Class A South prelim at Windham.
After Luke Cuniffe of Windham scored at 22:43 of the second half, assisted by Owen Weatherby, Jeremiah Gomez tied it for Thornton on a penalty kick with 29 seconds left in regulation.
Luke Hammond of Windham made 15 saves. Rory Beaudoin stopped 14 shots for the Trojans.
FALMOUTH 1, KENNEBUNK 0: Ben Pausman, Caden Barnard and Mason Quiet converted penalty kicks and Caden Berry stopped three of Kennebunk’s five attempts as the ninth-seeded Navigators (8-5-2) defeated the eighth-seeded Rams (6-6-3) in a Class A South prelim in Kennebunk.
Falmouth will play top-seeded Scarborough in a quarterfinal on Wednesday.
Berry made six saves through regulation and two overtimes. Kennebunk’s Dylan Jones had five saves, plus one more in penalty kicks.
