Knowing Morgan Rielly as a child and watching him grow up in a family of public service, it is exciting to see him serve our community as a state representative. His accomplishments in his first term have been very beneficial to Westbrook. Serving his hometown and representing the next generation in Augusta, his leadership has helped with efforts for property-tax relief, improved education funding, support for our veterans, and better housing options for our region. Along with many other initiatives for our state, these efforts have been critical here at home, which we know he will not forget when serving in Augusta.
I encourage everyone to join me and many others in supporting a second term for Morgan Rielly for District 127 of the Maine House of Representatives on Election Day, Nov. 8.
Mayor Michael Foley

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
