BIDDEFORD — Joseph Arthur Benoit Laverriere, of West Haven Connecticut, passed away on September 29, 2022, at the age of 91.
He was born in Biddeford, Maine on March 21, 1931. Joseph, known as Ben, was the son of the late Marguerite (Masse) and A. Arthur Laverriere.
Ben was retired from Sikorsky Aircrafts, where he first worked as a machinist. He then became an instructor of blue print reading, trigonometry and geometric tolerance. He was an avid pool player, enjoyed his boats, playing cribbage, doing daily cross word puzzles and tinkering in his personal tool shop.
Ben was predeceased by his loving wife of nearly 60 years M. Irene (Sirois); a son, Richard Laverriere; and four siblings, Priscilla, Jacqueline Remillard, Marguerite Paquette and Norman Laverriere.
He is survived by one brother, Philip Laverriere; four children, Michael Laverriere, Denise Laverriere, Diane (Allen) Crowe, and Vicki Laverriere; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford Maine on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.
