Bruce E. Adams
KENNEBUNKPORT – Bruce E. Adams, a lifetime resident of Kennebunkport, passed away in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sept. 28, 2022, following a long illness.
Bruce was born on March 3, 1944, at Biddeford Hospital, the son of Donald Adams and Velda Gavin Adams. Bruce started first grade in the one room School House on North Street and graduated from Kennebunk High School. Bruce was one the first students enrolled in the building program at the high school. Upon graduation he began his career as a builder and carpenter. He was a craftsman his entire life, building custom homes for residents starting in the sixties and continuing until his retirement in 2018.
Bruce was always active in his hometown. He was a member of Arundel Lodge #76, AF and AM and a former member of Village Fire Department. Bruce was a huge car racing fan. He spent his free time tending his property on North Street. He loved being outside with countless projects always going around the farm. He also enjoyed travelling, particularly when he took family vacations.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Velda Gavin Adams and his brother Wayne T. Adams.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Grace Palano Adams and his sons, Brett and Michael Adams. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jack Palano, sisters-in-law, Kathy Ray and Kim Palano, nephews, JJ Palano and Bradford Adams and nieces, Katie Palano, Sarah Adams O’Sullivan and Emily Adams.
Visiting hours will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday Oct. 22, 2022 with a Masonic Memorial Service at 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of Bruce’s life, all at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, Maine. Interment will be at Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport.
