Judith “Judy” Maliska
NAPLES, Fla. – On March 14, 1941, in Scranton, Pa., a baby girl was born to Kathryn and Harry Haren. On Friday Sept. 23, 2022, at 5:15 p.m. in Naples, Fla., that beautiful little girl who grew into a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend completed her earthly journey. But, as per her wishes we will carry on with unparalleled joyous memories of the life we all shared with her.
Judy’s parents relocated to Portland, Maine where Judy grew up and graduated in 1959 from Portland High School. She was the high school sweetheart of her future husband, Leo Maliska, also of Portland. Judy and Leo were married in 1964 in Portland and had two loving children, Konrad and Teresa. Konrad lives with his wife, Rosana and their three daughters Tiffany, Allison and Erika in Leesburg, Va. Teresa and her husband Christian Duggan and their three daughters Caroline, Lauren and Evie live in Holly Springs, N.C.
In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Judy is survived by her sister, Frances DiPhilippo; her niece, Catherine O’Donnell, nephews, Michael DiPhilippo, Jerry DiPhilippo, Sam DiPhilippo, their families; and her cousins, Joanie Zoppi and Kathleen Sauerzopf and their families.
Judy and Leo were inseparable, the living definition of a happy marriage. They shared 12 residence addresses, visited 47 countries and five territories. The 58 years of marriage were exemplary.
Words are insufficient to describe the joy, happiness, and pleasure that Judy brought to all of us who knew her. She didn’t create life-saving cures or design earth shattering inventions, but anyone who came within the sphere of her acquaintance felt and benefitted from the warmth of her glow.
Goodbye Judy, we will be together again.
