I am proud to support independent candidate Anne Gass for the Maine House of Representatives in District 104. As a parent and a longtime Gray resident, I know Anne cares about making our community a great place to live, work and play.Anne is the consummate community volunteer. She has served on the Gray Town Council and the school board, helped in our schools’ classrooms, and led tours of Gray Village to build engagement in the town’s visioning process, among many other examples. Anne takes a pragmatic, hands-on, and respectful approach to solving problems – just what I’m trying to teach my young son.Anne also gives of her time to support and engage neighbors, helping individuals enmesh themselves into the fabric of our community, increasing its vibrancy for all. I know she will give this signature attention to each constituent as our representative.Meg BarhiteGray

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
