The economy and high prices are hurting all of us across the state and nation. Once Biden’s rescue money is all spent, Maine will be left holding the bag with programs that cannot fund themselves. We need to vote in legislators who know how to balance a checkbook without living on borrowed time and money.
Maine Senate candidate Jennifer White has the experience to help our state recover and to cut unnecessary spending. She is keenly aware of the needs affecting the most vulnerable in our state, like seniors and those struggling with mental illnesses. She will be a voice for those who need critical funding support to improve safety and quality of life. But she takes seriously the responsibility of not using taxpayers’ money to fund frivolous programs, especially during unprecedented times. Jennifer’s integrity is needed at the state level. Please vote for Jennifer White if you live in Senate District 25.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
