Thanks to those keeping Saco park clean
To the editor,
Post Office Park is a tiny green oasis on Main Street in downtown Saco. The comfortable benches on the brick patio provide a popular place for families and friends to meet and relax while enjoying an ice cream from The Saco Scoop.
I would like to recognize and thank Roch Rodrigue, owner of the Atkinson building who hired Roger Bernier, to undertake a major cleanup of the park and the area surrounding the Atkinson building earlier this summer.
And a huge thank you and Kudos to Melissa Colley, the manager and her husband Jim and the crew of The Saco Scoop who have been monitoring and keeping the park neat and inviting on a daily basis throughout the entire summer.
This is a huge improvement over the condition I noticed earlier this summer.
Let’s do our share to keep it that way by picking up after ourselves and disposing of waste in the receptacles provided.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
