Dr. Susana Hancock is a transdisciplinary Arctic climate researcher working at the nexus of science and politics surrounding the climate crisis in the polar regions. She recently was one of two scientists selected for the international Jubilee Expedition in which she skied several hundred miles across the High Arctic while conducting climate research. She currently leads the science team with Arctic Basecamp, a non-profit organization that provides bespoke climate science sessions for heads of state and CEOs of global corporations. She is delegate to the UN’s COP climate conferences, an expert reviewer with the IPCC, has been part of the Arctic working group for the UN Decade of Ocean Science, is Vice President for the Association for Polar Early Career Scientists and is an advisor to the B2BI North Atlantic-Arctic Ocean Strategic Framework. When not cross-crossing the world (by rail, ski and sail!), she lives part-time in midcoast Maine, where she is on the executive committee of Democracy Maine and enjoys exploring the woods with her dog.
