Cape Elizabeth Town Councilors Caitlin Jordan and Penny Jordan have taken out nomination papers for the Nov. 8 election. Signatures on Penny Jordan’s papers were verified Monday by the Town Clerk.
Both incumbents have terms that expire in December. As of Wednesday afternoon, no other residents had taken out nomination papers for the two open council seats.
There are also two School Board seats up for grabs this fall, but no one has yet to take out nomination papers for seats held by Chairperson Kimberly Carr and member Philip Saucier that expire in December.
The deadline to submit nomination papers to the Town Clerk’s Office is 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
