
Community Fest set for Tuesday
Community Fest is set for 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St., and features a pool party, live music, food trucks, arts, crafts, basketball, pickleball, volleyball, disc golf and cornhole. Admission is free.
It’s “a great way to have some family fun before school begins again the following week,” said Greg Post, director of Community Services.

Truth About Daisies will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Conant Homestead, 99 Conant St.

The American Journal on Aug. 16, 1972, reported that Colin Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Chase of Brackett Street, celebrated his second birthday with a party Aug. 3.
