Several residents are needed to serve on the Cumberland Lands and Conservation Commission.
The LCC and its subcommittees promote the conservation of natural resources and encourage the conservation of water, land and open space and vistas in town. It also oversees the town’s forests and recreational trails and researches and recommends better methods to address environmental issues.
There is one vacancy on the commission, one member is needed for the trails subcommittee and two residents are being sought to serve on the sustainability subcommittee. Applications can be found at cumberlandmaine.com or by contacting Brenda Moore at 829-2205.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
