Yarmouth residents and community groups that want to get involved with the town’s visioning effort can now access “Meeting-in-a-Box” to facilitate conversations about the town’s strengths and challenges, and how Yarmouth should grow.
The materials can be downloaded or picked up at Town Hall and include everything needed, from sample invitations to worksheets and group discussion guidelines and questions. Learn more at yarmouth.me.us/visioning.
Yarmouth is launching a community engagement and visioning initiative to get feedback from the community on goals and priorities for the future of the Town and to develop a vision statement in advance of updating the Comprehensive Plan. The goal of the Meeting-in-a-Box tool is to encourage conversations at a time and a place that’s convenient and comfortable, and to make the planning process more equitable and inclusive.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
