Maureen Margaret Murphy Flanagan
YARMOUTH – Maureen Margaret Murphy Flanagan, 81, died peacefully on July 27, 2022 with family at her side. She was born Dec. 24, 1940 in Augusta, a daughter of Catherine Veronica Carney and Robert Earl Murphy
She attended St. Mary’s Schools and Cony High School in Augusta. Maureen worked at Coastal Manor Nursing home in Yarmouth in the 1970’s as Activities Director, and The Caring Place in North Yarmouth. She loved working in her garden at her house, going to the movies with her good friend Pat, and attending shows at the Maine State Music Theater with her daughters.
She was predeceased by her husband William Flanagan; parents, Robert and Catherine Murphy; sister, Norma Morisette and brother-in-law Peter Morisette; several brothers and sisters-in-law, James Flanagan, Dan Flanagan and his wife Llada Flanagan, Rose Flanagan, Carolyn Flanagan, Mary Ann Flanagan Juco, and Eileen Flanagan.
She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Flanagan of Freeport, Colleen Flanagan Porter of Yarmouth, Margaret Flanagan Gregoire and her husband Brian of Durham; grandsons, William Porter and his fiancé Marina Goding, Thomas Gregoire and Patrick Gregoire; brother-in-law, Tim Flanagan and his wife Judy Flanagan, sister-in-law, Kathleen Martin and her husband Jeff, brother-in-law, Ricardo Juco; many nieces and nephews; and wonderful friends.
