Daniel Richard Brillant Sr. 1940 – 2022 SEVERN, Md. – Daniel Richard Brillant Sr., a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at his home in Severn, Md., at the age 83. The son of Anita and Romeo Brillant, Dan grew up in Brunswick, Maine. He attended Brunswick High School and has maintained long-term friendships with many classmates. At the age of 21, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and attained the rank of MSGT. He retired in May 1981 with 22 years of service. While in the Corps, he was on embassy duty in Bangkok, Thailand in the early 1960’s and served in Vietnam from December 1967 to January 1969. Just prior to retirement, he spent six years on recruiting duty. He continued to work as a civil servant with the U.S. Army and the Treasury Department. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy; son Daniel, Jr. and his wife Theresa, and son John and his wife Wendy. He has four grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Jenna, and Matthew Brillant. He is also survived by a brother, Ronald and his wife Lucille, sister Joan Campbell and her husband Blane, sister Nancy Burns, sister Rita Coulombe and her husband Chanel, all of Maine, and sister Juliette Smith and her husband Gary of Texas, and the late Tina Koppenhaver and her husband Leroy. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys Town and/ or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children
