Billed as “five days of fun and feasting on the fabulous coast of Maine,” the Maine Lobster Festival is offering free admission every day from Aug. 3-7 at Harbor Park in Rockland.
This year’s highlights include the Maine Sea Goddess Coronation and the popular Steins & Vines Tasting Event. During two tasting sessions on both Thursday, Aug. 4, and Friday, Aug. 5, visitors will have the opportunity to taste Maine-made wine, beer and spirits.
The Big Parade on Saturday, Aug. 6, steps off at 10 a.m. on Main Street. A beer tent has been added and the Children’s Tent has been expanded. Live music will be featured every day and fireworks will light the sky over Rockland Harbor at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, and Saturday, Aug. 6.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
