BIDDEFORD — With three weeks of Music in the Park left this summer and the River Jam Festival just around the corner, Heart of Biddeford wants the community to know that some of the best entertainment is yet to come.
The remaining Music in the Park events are Wednesday nights, July 27, Aug. 3 and Aug. 10 in three different parks from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, July 27: Ruta Beggars performs at Mechanics Park (corner of Water and Main Streets in Biddeford).
The Ruta Beggars infuse traditional bluegrass and early swing to create a timeless act filled with intricate vocal harmonies, fiery instrumentals, and plenty of fun. They have been praised for their creative yet tasteful arrangements and charming performances, winning Thomas Point’s band competition in 2019. The Ruta Beggars have been featured on the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Showcase, Steve Martin’s Unreal Bluegrass, Brian O’Donovan’s A Celtic Sojourn and the main stages of Joe Val, Grey Fox, Thomas Point, and Ossipee Bluegrass Festivals. Wednesday, Aug. 3: Andi Fawcett performs at Shevenell Park, 147 Main St.

Wednesday, Aug. 10: 12/OC performs at Rotary Park, 550 Main St.
This “Band of three brothers doing what they love” will bring their incredibly energetic country music to Biddeford’s Rotary Park. At 23, 20 and 17, they play original and country covers, and have gathered a huge following that shows up at their gigs across the state. In addition to Music in the park, the River Jam Festival is Aug. 19 and 20.
Fringe Fest is Friday, Aug. 19 on Main Street and Shevenell Park. It’s an arts smorgasbord. River Jam takes place all day Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Mechanics Park, with a full lineup of music on the main stage, kid’s activities and food trucks and a beer garden.
