I do wish and hope that Portland is watching, or at least catching up on, the new information the House committee has presented about the insurrection. Yes, that is what it was on Jan. 6: an insurrection and an attempt at a coup.
What I hope people see is how coordinated the effort was and how close it came to succeeding. Then I think, are you kidding me? What is it that the people involved wanted? Simply, they wanted power that could not be challenged. No court could hold them accountable, and the money would all be concentrated in a few hands.
Regardless of a person’s party affiliation or groups that they believe in and belong to, doesn’t this just sound like Russia or China?
We are all frustrated with government, politics and the cost of living and gas. Shall I go on? Instead of tearing each other to pieces, present a solution, share your ideas, cooperate and be nice. One side or another can’t solve the problem alone.
The solution is in our hands. We must try to make things better. The alternative seems to be the destruction of democracy.
Is that the endgame, really?
