FREDERICK, Md. – William Ward Whyte III passed away Feb. 26, 2022.
He graduated from St Anselm’s College with a degree in sociology, where he also managed the basketball team. He was the director of several group homes in Maine, advocating the rights of the mentally challenged.
Although he suffered with Cerebral Palsy, he overcame many provocations learning to ski, and play golf. (With a hole-in-one at the Portland Country Club). He had many physical struggles but he never let that get in his way. Willy just loved people the way they were. He will be sorely missed by many.
He was the dearest husband to Bonnie (Huber) Whyte. “Bill” or “Willy” also leaves behind a sister, Susan K. (Whyte) Roux. Also, he has several nieces nephews and cousins; and three grandchildren.
He had two brothers, Tim and Terry, who are now passed.
Internment will be at Riverside Cemetery on August 1, in Yarmouth for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local cerebral palsy organization.
