The Supreme Court justices’ 6-3 decision last month on concealed-carry regulation is expected to ultimately allow more people to legally carry guns on the streets of the nation’s largest cities – New York, Los Angeles, Boston and elsewhere. I can’t think of a more harmful opinion by the court.

I lived in New York City for 30 years. There is no way that I would want to live in a crowded community where the State of New York cannot regulate itself. And this strikes me as illogical. The Supreme Court has told us that Roe v. Wade should be decided by the states. I guess that is thanks to Sen. Susan Collins. But the states can’t restrict gun rights. Which is it?

This Supreme Court has no ideological consistency. My wife and I worried about our children’s safety everyday as I dropped them off at school. I want gun control. Registration, restrictions on boyfriend and straw purchase loopholes, restrictions on purchase age and national background checks. And I completely disagree with open carry.
