A motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning when his bike collided with an SUV near the intersection of Route 5 and Route 25 in Cornish.
John Washington, 32, of Baldwin died in the collision, according to a news release issued by York County Sheriff William L. King Jr.
Washington’s motorcycle, a 2006 Honda CBR, collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Sheila Beal, 70, of Newfield. Washington, who was alone on the motorcycle, was wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Beal and a passenger were not injured, but the intersection remained closed for about four hours. The crash took place around 9:22 a.m. Sunday.
