Andrew “Andy” J. Pitteroff III
TOPSHAM – Andrew “Andy” J. Pitteroff III, 65, of Topsham, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 4, 2022.
Son of the late Andrew and Marlene Pitteroff, Jr.; beloved husband of 37 years to Christine (Toner) Pitteroff; loving father of Andrew ”Drew”(Ange) Pitteroff and Audrey (Whitney) Lofgren; proud grandfather of Adelaide and James Pitteroff; brother of Douglas Pitteroff, Debra (Ed) Lewis, Dana Pitteroff, the late Diana Schmotzer (surviving her husband, George) and the late George (surviving his wife Pamela) Pitteroff, brother-in-law of Judy (Deacon Thom) Mills; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Andy worked at Electric Boat in Groton, Conn., Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, Va. and retired in 2016 from Bath Iron Works after 32 years.
He was a member of All Saints Parish in Brunswick, he was a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus Sekenger Council #1947. He was a long-time member of the Westport Island Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid Harley rider, and a proud member of the Iron Pigs Motorcycle Club – Southern Maine Chapter.
Andy loved making everyone laugh, his larger than life personality made him the focus of any gathering. Andy loved music, singing with the Oratorio Chorale, and playing his guitar around the dinner table. He was also a very gifted visual artist who worked primarily with water colors. He had a large commanding presence but was kind hearted, creative and always saw the best in people. Andy most enjoyed family time and absolutely adored his grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Friday, July 8 from 12 p.m. until the time of memorial service, 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Valentine Church, 2710 Ohio St., Bethel Park. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, Pa.
Memorial Mass will be held in Brunswick on Saturday, August 20, 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
