For an absolutely spellbinding evening of timple music, make your way to Rockland for a performance by virtuoso player Germán López, who’ll be accompanied by acoustic guitarist Antonio Toledo. Wondering what a timple is? It’s a diminutive, five-string guitar native to the Canary Islands, where López is from. The duo will play songs that are innovative takes on Canary Island folk traditions, as well as Spanish flamenco, West African rhythms, Americana and jazz. Expect to be mesmerized and enchanted as both of the musicians’ fingers fly across their instruments, weaving an enthralling tapestry of strings.
