SACO — Consumers can brighten their day with a bouquet of flowers that gives back to the local community. Safe House has been selected by Saco Hannaford store leadership as the benefiting nonprofit in the brand-new Hannaford Bloomin’ 4 Good Program for the month of March, and will receive a $1 donation from every Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquet with a red circle sticker that is sold at the Saco location.
“Flowers can make someone’s day, brighten up a room or spread a smile,” said Eliza Conley-Lepene, executive director of Safe House. “Now they can give back, too! We are thrilled to be chosen to benefit from this unique and impactful Hannaford Bloomin’ 4 Good Program, as the demands of those in need are higher than ever this year.”
Safe House works to focus on making the maximum positive effort in the community, said Conley-Lepene. Among its initiatives are apps designed to help people in crisis, including SafeHouseNational.org. Learn more about Safe House by visiting https://YOURSAFERPLACE.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
