KENNEBUNKPORT – Residents looking to run for Kennebunkport Board of Selectmen or the Regional School Unit 21 Board of Directors – incumbents or those deciding to seek office – may obtain nomination papers from the town clerk’s office on Elm Street during regular business hours starting March 7.
There are three-year terms in the offing – one RSU 21 director representing Kennebunkport and two members of the board of selectmen, said Town Clerk Jamie Mitchell.
Loreta McDonnell is the RSU 21 incumbent. Patrick Briggs and Sheila Matthews-Bull are incumbent selectmen.
The nomination papers must contain no less than 25 and no more than 100 signatures of people registered to vote in Kennebunkport. The papers are due back in the town clerk’s office by the close of business on April 15.
Municipal elections are June 14, the same day as the state primary election.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
