ALFRED — The 4th Annual AJ Davis Memorial Ice Fishing Derby is set for Sunday, Feb. 27 on Shaker Pond in Alfred, beginning at 6:30 a.m. and winding down at 2:30 p.m. Registration is $20 for adults; $10 for kids. Adult prizes are $500 for first, $250 for second and $125 for third place, while kids win trophies and prizes for 1-7th place. In the bonus category, the heaviest trout wins a prize. Organizers say the derby was created to raise money for scholarships to be awarded in AJ’s memory, doing something he loved. Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors.
