Robert Armand Chenevert Jr.

TORONTO, Canada – Robert Armand Chenevert Jr., 78, of North York, Ontario, deceased from COVID-19 virus Jan. 10, 2022. Robert received the COVID-19 vaccine but not the “booster”.

Bob was born in Portland May 17, 1943, the first of two sons, to Robert Sr. and Catherine Martin Chenevert. The family soon moved to South Portland where he attended public schools, graduating from South Portland High School class of 1961. As a youth Bob skied, skated, ran track, played tennis, piano, and chess; swam and dived with his friends at nearby Willard Beach.

He attended Northeastern University in Boston to study engineering, later the University of Maine at Orono. About 1968 he moved to Canada, eventually settling in Toronto, worked in banking, the car business, and met and married his first wife, Judy (Bailey), mother of his only child, daughter Robin. As a younger man he was a dedicated runner who competed in several marathons in Ontario. Bob had many interests and among these were cycling, skating, reading, cars, and driving adventures.

After retiring, he and his second wife, Cora, enjoyed time together and with his grandsons.

Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Judy, in 1998; and by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Cora; daughter, Robin and husband Troy Keays, grandsons Jaiden and Quinton all of Toronto; brother, Richard and wife Marie (Maiorano) of Cape Elizabeth; also several cousins and friends in southern and central Maine, along with his many Toronto friends.

Visitation, funeral, and burial took place Wednesday, Jan. 19 at Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Center, 7732 Mavis Rd., Brampton, Ontario.
