Community center switches free meals to takeout
Due to a rise in cases of COVID-19, the sit-down weekly meal served at Westbrook Community Center will now be distributed as a boxed meal available for takeout from 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays in the parking lot at Trinity Lutheran Church at 612 Main St.
“The fellowship of eating together is sorely missed, and as soon as it is safe to do so, we will once again resume the meal at the community center,” a press release from the church that co-sponsors the meals with Wayside Food Services stated.
For more information, leave a message at the church by calling 854-5653 and someone will return the call.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
