Library friends making plans for book sale, annual meeting
Friends of Walker Memorial Library will have a full agenda when the group meets from 5:30-6:30 Thursday, Jan. 27, in the library at 800 Main St.
Among the topics up for discussion will be the 2022 Westbrook High School and tech school scholarship recipient, planning the annual book sale and whether the May annual meeting will include a speaker.
Meetings are held on the second floor of the library on the fourth Thursday of every month and anyone interested in joining is more than welcome. For more information, call the library at 854-0630.
Seniors to meet
Westbrook Senior Citizens will be entertained by guitarist Glen Bryant when they meet at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.

The Westbrook American reported on Jan. 26, 1972, that Army Pvt. Erland Cutter, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Clifford Cutter, had been home 20 days on leave. He returned to the Army Medical Training Center at Fort Sam Houston in Texas.
