Daniel J. Hammond, 46, was riding with a group of three friends on a snowmobile trail in Harrison at 10:30 a.m. when the group stopped to cross the Cape Monday Road, according to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Hammond crossed the road with a friend behind him and, after crossing the road, Hammond traveled a short distance up the trail and crashed into trees.
