The cause of a Nov. 24 fire at Fat Andy’s Hardwoods in North Yarmouth remained undetermined as of Dec. 6, according to Maine Public Safety Department Spokesperson Shannon Moss.
The fire, which occurred Nov. 24 around 7 p.m. at the lumberyard and commercial business, is being investigated by the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office and North Yarmouth Fire Rescue. According to earlier reports from the Portland Press Herald, the fire started in a truck filled with sawdust before spreading to a building on the property where a number of tools were stored.
According to North Yarmouth Fire Rescue, the fire was under control by 10 p.m., but firefighters remained on scene until shortly after midnight. The extent of the damage is unclear.
Fat Andy’s owner Chris Calise declined to comment on the situation, but did say the business has reopened.
