Teresa Pierce, who represents Falmouth in the Maine House of Representatives, is running in Senate District 25 to replace incumbent Cathy Breen.
Pierce, a Democat, is serving her fourth term in the House and cannot run for reelection due to term limits. She served on the Falmouth Town Council for six years, two of which as chairperson. She has lived in Falmouth for 19 years.
Breen will reach the end of her fourth term next year as well and cannot run again due to term limits. She did not respond to a request for comment.
Senate District 25 includes Cumberland, Falmouth, Gray, North Yarmouth and the majority of Yarmouth and Long Island.
