A hydroplaning 18-wheeler jackknifed on Route 1 southbound in Brunswick Monday morning, backing up traffic, police say.
According to police, the truck slid into the wires that divide the northbound and southbound lanes near Cook’s Corner. Police closed the road to detangle the truck. Nobody was injured.
The crash temporarily closed traffic southbound between Cook’s Corner and Topsham Route 196.
A traffic alert was issued on the Brunswick Police Department Facebook page around 10:45 a.m. on Monday. Police updated the post at around 12:30 p.m. stating that both lanes of Route 1 had reopened, and traffic flow was back to normal.
