SCARBOROUGH — In recognition of Pain Awareness Month, Healthy Living For ME, a statewide resource, wants Mainers to be aware of the network’s programs, including online workshops.
Virtual, over-the-phone or in-person programming is available to all Mainers, announced Healthy Living For ME.
“Workshops offered include those that directly address chronic/ongoing pain, as well as others to manage overall chronic/ongoing conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, or diabetes; falls prevention programs; caregiver support; and others,” a press release said.
Pain Awareness Month has been recognized each September since 2001, the network said.
Kristin Overton, chief strategy officer of Healthy Living for ME, said that Mainers are welcome to reach out to the network for a workshop or other program.
“As we mark the 2021 Pain Awareness Month, we encourage Mainers to use Healthy Living for ME’s free and low-cost resources to help them manage their ongoing pain and related conditions,” she said. “Our workshops and other resources treat the whole person, so the people we serve are able to create healthy habits and improve their overall wellness, both physically and emotionally.”

Healthy Living For ME welcomes referrals from health care providers, the release said.
