Biddeford Food Pantry gave out free cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, as well as vegetarian sausages on Thursday, Sept. 9. The organization fed close to 200 people and one UPS driver, according to the organization’s Executive Director Don Bisson.
“The volunteers had a lot of fun giving out the food and waving to cars, there was a lot of honking (more than usual) in front of the pantry today in support,” he said in an email.
“We would like to thank Walmart, Hannaford, Target, Shaw’s, and Savvy Rental for all of the donated food, paper goods and grill for our event,” Bisson said. “We are always amazed at the generosity of the business community in the greater Biddeford area. We asked for a little and they gave us much more than what we ask for. We are going to try to do this again next year and we will let you know.”
