BRADENTON, Fla. – Royce A. Young Jr. passed away at Tidewell Hospice in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. on Sept. 5, 2021.He was born on Sept. 1, 1934 in Topsham, to Royce A. Young Sr. and Hazel Evrard Young. He attended Morse High School and joined the Marines in 1953. He served during the Korean Conflict as a sergeant in the Marine Corp.He is predeceased by both parents; and his brother, Ronald Young.He is survived by his sister, Nancy Zambella (Fran), brother, Timothy Young (Nancy), and sister-in-law, Louise Young. He has three daughters who all reside in Florida, Kimberly Judd (Steven), Karen Thibodeau (Paul) and Kristi Stetson (Stephen). He has four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.In 1960, Roy moved back to Maine after leaving the Marines and went to work at Bath Iron Works where he was an apprentice in the shipfitting program. At the end of his career there, he was the vice president of production and operations. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He was an excellent woodworker. He opened a small shop in South Harpswell – Specialty Wood Products, after retirement.There will not be a service at this time. He requested his ashes be placed in Maine, which will be at an undetermined date at this time.
