A missing man with dementia has been found safe after a search Saturday by Maine State Police and game wardens.
Peter Bang, 83, was last seen around noon Saturday while walking on the Bayview Trail in Lincolnville, according to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety. At some point during the walk he became separated from the person he was with. Bang suffers from advanced dementia and recently has experienced shortness of breath, according to the release.
Bang is a white male, 6 feet tall and 178 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve red plaid shirt and gray jogging pants that say Bailey on them.
Bang “has been located safely,” a state police spokeswoman said in a statement late Saturday night.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
