June 7 sees the release of Good Food award winner Prince Percy Pilsner in the bottle and on draft from Maine Beer Company. On June 15, Peeper Pale Ale Batch 500 will be released in bottles, and on June 18, Black Barn Program No. 22 India Pale Ale will be released in bottles and on draft. Moderation Brewing on Maine Street in Brunswick is reopening with outdoor seating in the beer garden and front tables. In the coming weeks the beer garden will expand a bit into the parking area. In the meantime, the tasting room now includes a market with beer, hard seltzers, cheeses, art and other local products. “Wine Weirdo Wednesdays” are starting this month at Vessel & Vine, 4 Pleasant St., Brunswick. These classes, held from 6-7:30 p.m., include wine tastings, fun information and an appetizer plate to pair with the wines. Vessel & Vine is now carrying bread and pastries from Bread and Friends in Portland on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until supplies run out. Early arrival is best. Bread and Friends uses whole grains and natural leavening and makes a variety of loaves, including spelt/rye, oat porridge and sesame whole wheat.
Noble Kitchen + Bar at the Brunswick Hotel is open once again for dining in and on the patio. The hours are 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday. Foraging sessions led by David Spahr through Merrymeeting Adult Education are being offered once a month throughout the summer. The classes are from 1-3:30 p.m. and start and end at Bowdoinham Town landing. The cost is $40/person in June and $50 in July and August. The dates are June 27, July 18 and Aug. 15. The School House 1913 in Harpswell is planning a wine dinner for the end of June. The date and details are still being finalized, but this is yet another sign of returning to normal life. The new hours for dining in and on the deck are 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday, 4:30-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Reservations are encouraged at 295-2029.
