Hiss & Chambers is the Portland-based indie and modern rock band with a keen appreciation for ’80s alternative music. In April, they released a EP of covers featuring songs by Peter Murphy, New Order, The Cure and The Church.

Shawn Saindon is the singer and guitarist, and Jason Hjort is on guitar, keys and programming.

The unofficial name of the EP is “The Pandemic Singles,” and it’s available on streaming platforms including their Bandcamp page.

The band made a video for the song featuring Saindon filmed in black and white playing the song, and while it’s certainly different from The Church’s original version, it still captures the mood and essence of the quintessential ’80s song.
