On Tuesday, members of the Scarborough Police Department Special Enforcement Unit observed two suspicious vehicles parked at a local hotel. Officers observed one of the occupants preparing to inject an unknown substance, according to a Scarborough Police news release.
The two occupants, Derek Albert Gerrish, 31, a transient, and Ekko Prime, 24, of Sanford, were arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine and methamphetamine.
In the vehicle, police found 143 grams of fentanyl, 4.8 grams of cocaine, 5.7 grams of crack cocaine, Oxycontin pills and 120 grams of methamphetamine, according to the release. Police said they also found in the vehicle $23,000 in cash and two firearms with ammunition.
