The city of Portland has updated its safety protocol for in-person interactions at City Hall and other city buildings.

Temperatures and health screening questions will no longer be administered on site, but individuals are asked to do their own screening beforehand and not visit if they are not feeling well. Masks will still be required, even for those who have been vaccinated.

City Hall and city buildings will still be open to the public for only limited services. The Treasury Office, which oversees auto/boat registration and property taxes payments, will continue to operate by appointment only. The city clerk’s office, which handles birth/death/marriage certificates and elections/voting, and the parking office will serve walk-in customers from the basement level of City Hall, accessible via the Myrtle Street entrance.

All other city services will continue to operate virtually, online and via email.
