Charlene L. Whitmore

KENNEBUNK – Charlene L. Whitmore, 87, of Chickadee Lane passed away Wednesday May 26, 2021 at the Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth.

She was born in Bar Harbor, Feb. 22, 1934, the daughter of Maynard and Bertha Hall Holmes.

She attended local schools and graduated from Bar Harbor High School.

Charlene worked one time for John Hancock Insurance in Boston and later in Connecticut.

She and her family moved to Saco in 1961. Charlene had her own nursery school, was a Cub Scout den leader and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Saco. She enjoyed skiing, knitting, and playing Bridge.

She was predeceased by her sister, Ella Mae Gomes-DiNardo.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Whitmore and his wife Kim of Kennebunk, Mark Whitmore and his wife Martha, and a daughter, Lisa Ronco and husband Ronni of Saco; four grandchildren, Mark Whitmore Jr. and his wife Shital, Kyle Whitmore and his wife Elizabeth, Ben Whitmore and his fiancée Sarah Benton and Dr. Elizabeth Whitmore; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Mason Whitmore.

Private family arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family. Dennett, Craig and Pate, 365 Main St., Saco are entrusted with her services.
