The body of a Sebago man who was killed in an early-morning motorcycle crash in Standish was not found until Monday evening, according to Patrol Captain Kerry Joyce of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Joyce identified the victim as 35-year-old Kyle Kapikas.
Kapikas’ motorcycle crashed in the area of Boundary Road and Richville Road in Standish – most likely sometime early Monday morning. Joyce said the victim and his motorcycle were not discovered until 6:20 p.m.
When crews arrived at the crash site, they found a motorcycle that had gone off the road and hit a rock and trees. Kapikas’ body was located a short distance from his bike, a 2003 Honda CBR600.
“Kyle was alone on the motorcycle and likely had crashed early in the morning hours,” Joyce said in a news release. “The investigation revealed that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.”
