Elliot Hardman

WESTBROOK – Elliot knew nothing but love in his short life. After sustaining an intrauterine brain hemorrhage before birth, it became clear to those who loved him that Elliot’s time on earth was meant to be brief and peaceful.

He spent his first and final days surrounded by the overwhelming love of his parents, family, friends and incredible NICU nurses and providers.

He met his loving sister, Lena, excitable dog sister, Izzy and endured endless snuggles from all of his grandparents, his two adoring aunties and his godfather.

Elliot enjoyed soaking up the sunshine on his daily trips outside to Portland’s Western Promenade and celebrated his one-week birthday with a cannoli and his doting parents.

He felt the rain on his face, watched a Liverpool football victory with his dad, listened to the comedy of his namesake George Carlin, and witnessed the sunset and sunrise over Portland.

As an expert at snuggling, Elliot provided many with moments of peace in a buzzing hospital environment. These countless peaceful moments will leave a lasting mark on many hearts.

Elliot’s memory will be kept alive by his loving parents, Molly and James Hardman, his older sister, Lena, his grandparents, Vicki Summers, Jim and Christine Hardman, and Michael Christopher and Francis Baumann, his aunties, Brooke Hardman and Hilary Hardman Henning, uncles, Will Henning and Brian Ditchfield, cousins, Isla, Owen, and Lucy, godfather, Brett Cary, godmother, Kelly Bowens, and countless friends and family at Maine Medical Center and around the world.

Elliot left this world peacefully in his mother’s arms on a beautiful spring day.

Online condolences may be expressed at http://www.hobbsfuneralhome.com.

Molly and James ask that in lieu of flowers or gifts, that donations be made to Maine Needs (maineneeds.org), a local organization bringing basic material items to local families in Maine experiencing times of hardship. They also ask that you snuggle your family and friends close, spreading the endless love that Elliot shared in his short

but meaningful life.
